What The Tom's Team Played This Weekend

Where everyone else who has leveled up is now sporting around in a Mac Truck or a Hum V cabin (decent on pushing power but not so wonderful on get-up-and-go speed), you could be zipping past them and doing donuts around them by using a Pick-Up truck or Airplane cabin.

Between all the insane flips, tricks, and sick jumps, you cannot convince me otherwise that all these players have superpowers. Then see that much of the time the opposition (even the BOTS) have a power rating 4 times what you team has. The higher your power, the more elevated the players you'll be facing.

Any vehicle is active” until the cabin is destroyed, before that it may lose other parts including armor, wheels and armament, effectively crippling or neutralizing it. Because of that, it is important to protect vital components on the battle wagon.

That said, it's not out of the realm of possibility for the game to spread to the PS4 - it made it to Xbox One in August of last year and, assuming the game had console exclusivity, a year's time would be long enough for Grinding Gear Games to branch out.

NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 does feature a new selection of global courts, but that ‘world tour' from the original game is now completely gone. Players who just load down a vehicle with heavy armor and large caliber weapons would not be able to function in combat.

Your vehicles are your avatars in Crossout. Vehicles are based around three parts: cabins, wheels, and frames. Initially fun, but soon as you start to hit around 3k PS (Player Score, the rough guide” as to how powerful you are)) it becomes quite unbalanced. Some players, particularly those using cannons, can only shoot when you're on a certain side of their vehicle.

Personally, I was pleased with the game; I found it quite fun and more inviting than the more simulator-esque titles like NBA 2K. As for this year's outing, Playgrounds 2, I still like it. However, some things are rather different, and a lot of these changes simply cannot be ignored.

If you can overlook the heavier integration of the online component and the microtransactions (which, again, are pretty avoidable), then there's a really good chance you'll still have a lot of fun with NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 regardless of whether you've already played the original or not.

Matchmaking is currently limited only by the parts used to create the players' vehicles. Most players, especially at lower levels, don't have access to any strong frames or struts to mount their guns on. In fact, they're often just welded to the vehicle's base frame.

Featuring a vehicle design system with endless customization and fast-paced, armor-crunching combat, Crossout offers high-octane excitement in brief and explosive matches. Laced with micro-transactions to take full advantage of players well before the game is being close to being finished, which the game is really far from it.
